YPT Updated

Posted by spearce on May 15 2018 - 5:51pm

BSA has updated our Youth Protection Training. The new training is now 4 modules, taking 90 minutes to complete. They can be taken one at a time or all in one sitting. Everyone must take the new YPT by October 1 to be registered with BSA. This will be an important piece as we begin the recharter process in October. Please go to my.scouting.org and log in to take the new training. Once completed, please email a copy of you certificate to Michelle Allen at mmallen1602@yahoo.com and she will enter your training into our troop system.

Eagle Board of Review

Posted by dstokes on Jul 12 2017 - 10:21am

Parents, we always have a need for people within our troop to sit on an Eagle Board of Review.  The only qualifications there are for sitting on an Eagle Board of Review is that your over 21 years of age and not an ASM or SM of the Scout.  The benefit that you’ll receive is that you get to meet and talk with some incredible young men as well as learn more about the Eagle process. And it’s a lot of fun!

For our troop, these are normally held on Thursday nights at the offices of Martin Accountancy Corp, 20 Pacifica, Ste 1420, Irvine, CA 92618 or Offices of Innovative Systems, 23382 Mill Creek Dr, #125, Laguna Hills.

Please sign up at the link below:

We will provide specific dates for those Eagle Candidates in our troop as they come up, but even sitting on one for another troop is equally rewarding.

It takes a whole unit to develop a leader

Posted by dstokes on Feb 17 2017 - 1:35pm

Below is an article from the Orange County Council Leadership Development Chair, Rich Galpin. The article does a great job of explaining the importance of developing youth and adult leaders…not just sending them to a training course and believing they are “trained”. The calendar page of the troop website has current information and registration details about all youth and adult leadership development courses offered in the Orange County Council. A few that may catch your attention…
