Adult Leader -  Leader-Specific Training (LST-SM) New Training Course!

When: Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 7:30 AM—1:30 PM

Where: Wonderwear Facility 26561 Rancho Parkway South Lake Forest

Cost: $15 includes lunch


Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) (Registration Deadline is 10/15/16)

When: Friday, Oct. 28, 5:00 PM through —Saturday Oct. 29, 2016, 8:00 PM

Where: BSA Oso Lake Camp 21021 Los Alisos Blvd. Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

Cost: $20 plus food cost (TBD)


You must have both to be a “Trained Leader”

New Rank Requirements for 2016

The rank requirements in the latest book are official as of Jan. 1, 2016.

Scouts who joined the Boy Scouts of America on or after Jan. 1, 2016, MUST follow the rank requirements as printed in this Boy Scout Handbook or in the current year’s Boy Scout Requirements book.

The article does a great job of explaining the importance of developing youth and adult leaders…not just sending them to a training course and believing they are “trained”. The calendar page of the troop website has current information and registration details about all youth and adult leadership development courses offered in the Orange County Council. The District is always short on Eagle Board of Review Members.  If the District is unable to fill a Board, the Scout has to reschedule which can take an additional 6 weeks.
